In spellings this week, Year 3 have been consolidating the spelling patterns that we have learnt throughout the year. The children have selected and revised different words that they find difficult to spell. Have a go at home with your child, trying to remember any words that are difficult to spell and ask them to spell them out orally.
In maths this week, we have been looking at turns and angles in readiness to learn about 2D shapes. We have learnt that there are 4 quarter turns in a whole turn and that one quarter turn is the same as a 90 degree angle, a right-angle. The children went around the classroom using a right-angle checker to find any right-angles in the class. We also compared angles that are bigger or smaller than a right-angle. We tried this task below attached, see if you can try it again at home as we found it challenging!
