Year 5 Spelling Homework
In LLC lessons this week, we have been looking at the spelling pattern of unstressed vowels in polysyllabic words. We have clapped out the rhythm of the spelling words to find the syllables. Then noticed the vowel in the word that is quiet.
Here is the list of spelling words - your child will know which colour group they are in. You are welcome to practise any of the word lists.

Year 5 Maths Homework
In Year 5 this week, we have been becoming familiar with place value using numbers up to 1,000,000. The children recognised a place value chart and could correctly identify the value of each digit in chart up to tens of thousands.
The children understand that each could represent the digit in the column. They were then able to read and write the number in numerals and words alongside this e.g. 61, 332.
Ask your child to use the grids below to work out the value of the number and then to draw their own grids to match the value of the number shown.
