Summer context - 'Woodland Warriors'

We will be looking at different woodland animals and their habitats. We will also learn about food chains. The children will study the many trees and plants we have in TYY's grounds.
The new topic kicks off with a WOW day on Monday 13th May. Please dress in camouflage or green/brown for the WOW day.
SPRING 2 CONTEXT - 'FIT FOR A KING' (Tudors)
During this context Year 4 will study the Tudor period and life in the Tudor times. It will all kick off on Tuesday 12th March with a WOW day where the children and teachers will dress up like Tudors and participate in Tudor related activities. The day will end with the children giving their ideas and questions they would like answered about the Tudors and other monarchs in Britain and around the world in recent history. These ideas and questions will direct the learning over the next 6 - 8 weeks.
As part of our English work this half term the children acted out a scene from a play script, edited it in imovie then added a backdrop using green screen.
Here is an example of the work one of the groups produced. (You can scan and watch using a QR code reader)
SPRING 1 CONTEXT - 'Fit for the future'

We will also look at substance use and misuse with the focus on smoking. The context will end on Thursday 7th March where the children will be leading a coffee afternoon showcasing their work and leading sport related activities.

The children will need trainers, black shorts/skirt/joggers/leggings/skorts and a white top. During the colder months, please ensure your children bring warm jumpers/hoodies and tracksuit bottoms.
As we sometimes change PE days, children need to have their kit in school every day. They can bring their kits home on Fridays.
