We have had lots of fun celebrating Lunar New Year this week. We have made lanterns to decorate the classroom with. We created a huge Chinese dragon to display in the class. We copied the Chinese symbols for friendship and kindness and made them into decorations.
We had lots of fun cooking (and eating!) egg fried rice. We practised using chopsticks to eat. We also used chopsticks, string and pom poms to create our own noodle dish. We all sat down and had special fried rice and prawn crackers together while listening to Lunar New Year music. We went outside to make lots of noise using musical instruments and we finished the day by doing a dragon dance.
As always we have also done lots of playing.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
