Families should apply for five schools. Please use all of the preferences, this will help you to secure a school place for September 2025. Parents should apply for more than one school.
It is also important that they are aware of the following:
ON LINE APPLICATION SERVICE
The on line application service will be available at www.cardiff.gov.uk/primaryadmissions from Monday 11 November 2024. Online is the preferred method for applying for school places and provides the swiftest communication to parents on offer day.
If needed, we can support families in completing an application online. Assistance will also be available at Council advice hubs.
CLOSING DATES
Online applications and preference forms must be submitted by no later than Monday, 13 January 2025. Only applications received by this date will be considered in the initial round of allocations. Applications received after the closing date will be considered as late applications. It is, therefore, important that you apply on time because if all places are allocated in the initial round it may not be possible for the Council to allocate your preferred school.
CO-ORDINATED ADMISSIONS
The Council coordinates admissions for 21 of the 23 primary faith schools in Cardiff. For a place at a school that is part of the coordinated admissions scheme families must apply through the Council’s online admissions system. The schools not currently in the scheme are Llandaff C.W. Primary School and St John Lloyd R.C Primary School.
Parents will be notified of the result of your application for places in Community and Voluntary Aided Schools on 16th April 2025.
