Languages, Literacy and Communication

This week we have been learning to spell words with the "igh" sound.

This can be spelt in different ways, for example

"igh"   as in "light"

"y"  as in "cry"

"ie"  as in "pie"

"i_e"  as in "fine"

Please encourage your child to spot the "igh" sound when reading or speaking, and discuss the spelling.

Click on the document below for some more examples, and have fun!

Maths

This week we have been continuing to look at place value and working out the value of each number. For example 63 is six tens and 3 ones. Please continue talking to your child about numbers and working out the place value for the numbers.

Next week we will be counting in 2s,3s,5s and 10s. Practise these with your child.

Have fun learning to count in 2s,3s,5s and 10s by completing the the videos below.
